Copy/Paste from Illustrator, Affinity, Figma, etc...

In Autograph you can use the clipboard to exchange information with vector graphics applications. In these applications, selecting vector paths and performing a “copy” will convert the current selection into SVG code and add it to the clipboard.

You can then simply go back to Autograph, click inside the Project Panel, then right-click > Paste or press Ctrl/Cmd + V.

This will create a new composition and the SVG code will be converted to a Shapes Generator that displays the same options as when converting an SVG to a composition.

Adobe Illustrator

In Adobe Illustrator, making a copy of the current selection will automatically fill your clipboard with the corresponding SVG code.

Just paste into Autograph's Project Panel to create a new composition filled with this content.

Warning

Pressing Ctrl/Cmd + C repeatedly in Illustrator and then back in Autograph may cause the application to freeze for a few seconds due to the flood of data sent by Illustrator.

Affinity Designer and Affinity Photo

By default, Affinity products do not convert the current selection into SVG code when copied. This must be enabled in the preferences.

Go to Affinity Designer Preferences > General section and check Copy items as SVG.

Then, the rest of the process is the same as for Illustrator.

Figma Design

In Figma Design, after selecting the items to be transferred to Autograph, right-click and select Copy/Paste -> Copy as SVG.

Then, the rest of the process is the same as for Illustrator.

Inkscape

At the time of writing, the current version of Inkscape (version 1.4) does not allow you to copy/paste SVG code directly into the clipboard.

However, SVG files saved with Inkscape can be opened in Autograph when used as Layer Source or converted to a composition.
